Tell the game who they are, in your own words. Change your mind as often as you like.
You don't pick a premade. You make them. Eyes, hair, build, species, the way they hold themselves, the thing they can't stop fidgeting with. Say it and we'll draw it. Human is optional.
The demo is three toggles over one face, and the three axes are independent, so eight portraits are reachable rather than a single authored sequence. The character record beside the picture rewrites itself as each toggle flips:
Choose how your game looks. The same character, rendered any way you like.
The same character can be a noir snapshot, an oil painting, an ink wash, a digital cinematic. Whatever you pick holds for every portrait, every place, every moment.
The same character, rendered in each of these:
They don't exist until you do something. Then they're named for it, and they get better.
Your skills aren't numbers on a sheet. They're a record. Follow three smugglers across the docks and leave no shadow, and now you have Stealth. It starts at the bottom and climbs every time you use it.
A skill does not exist until Mira does something that needs it. Taking an action for the first time creates the skill at the bottom of the ladder; taking it again moves it up a rung. The skill is named after the deed, not chosen from a list:
Spark makes a character another player in the game.
A sparked character takes turns of their own. They go after what matters to them, whether or not it has anything to do with you.
Spark your closest friend. Spark your rival. Send one across the world on something that matters, and they'll tell you about it when they get back.
Whoever you spark stops waiting on you, and starts moving with you.
What each of them does while they wait, and what they do once sparked:
They know each other, and they have opinions. About each other, and about you.
Every character has opinions of every other character, and talks about them when you're not there. Some have known each other for years. Some are about to meet because of something you did.
You're not the center of the world. You're the catalyst.
Three people who know each other, and what they think of each other:
